WACO Wag-In This coming weekend

The WACO Wag-In will be held this coming weekend, September 13th , 2008 from 10 AM – 5PM in at WACO (pronounced like taco) Field in Troy, Ohio. This is a new area event and we would love to see it become and annual one. Dog events are fun, relaxing and good family outings. This one will be big, after all we have the Great Danes! They will be having a “fun match.”

What is a fun match? It is just like a conformation dog show, but it doesn’t count for points toward championship. So it’s for practice. Putting a dog through practice runs before actually having him in a competition will help him and his handler  be relaxed and at their best when it counts! Conformation shows are kind of like a beauty contest. The dog who represents his breed standard the best on show day wins.

There will also be an all breed obedience “Show& Go”, which is an obedience competitions for practice. It is set up just like an official one only it doesn’t count towards titles. Any breed is welcome to enter.

There will be other fun things going on, a trick contest, even a fashion show for those who enjoy dressing up their dog. Agility demonstrations, a microchip clinic and Gem City Dog Obedience Club’s drill team, Canine Cadence.

It should be a great event, lots to do and lots to see. We hope to see you all there. See the schedule of events below. Click on the poster to enlarge it to read the times and details.
